Harmony on the South Side is an organization that works to improve economic and social conditions on the South Side of Columbus. One of the key aspects of the program is their weekly open mic night. In the past, Harmony on the South Side had a drum set that it used for each weekly open mic night. The owner of the drum set (who was only lending it to the organization) moved out of town and took the drum set back, leaving them with no drums.
Last week, Music Loves Ohio purchased a drum kit for Harmony on the South Side to be used for their open mic programs. The house drummer for Harmony on the South Side is a youngster. Through this donation, Music Loves Ohio continued its mission of giving underserved Central Ohio youth opportunities to play music that they otherwise would not have.
