ABOUT US

Mission Statement

Music Loves Ohio is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides opportunities for Central Ohio youth to pursue their passion for music. Our financial assistance is focused on music education classrooms (public schools, private schools, and after school programs) and providing instruments to financially underserved students in Central Ohio.

History

Music Loves Ohio was founded by a group of people who thought it was unfair for financial barriers to keep kids who are passionate about music away from pursuing it. Over the years, MLO has purchased instruments for students and classrooms in need, hosted instrument building sessions and songwriting workshops, paid for students to attend music summer camps, travel cost of students to perform at Carnegie Hall, and multiple grants for Berklee College of Music performance camps, two of which led to full scholarships! Since 2010, MLO has donated over $100,000 in grants to support Central Ohio youth.

With no outside benefactor, MLO raises its money exclusively through fundraising events and donations. In the past we have had concert fundraisers, and even put out a Holiday music compilation album covered by some of the best artists in Columbus.

Today, MLO focuses on providing classroom grants to music educators and instrument grants to high school students in Central Ohio who are financially underserved and have a passion for music.
